Project Description
PREVENTION AND AWARENESS PROGRAMMES
Every family and individual in our community has the right to feel safe and supported. The Kamohelo Community Development Centre prohibits sexual assault, domestic violence, dating violence, and stalking amongst other awareness and prevention programmes and works year-round to provide you with education, tools, and resources to recognize concerning or harmful behaviors and strategies for intervening or assisting others in receiving the support they require.
As part of these efforts, the Kamohelo Community Development Centre offers primary prevention and awareness campaigns to all members of the community. Our prevention and awareness campaigns are also designed to educate and empower the community regarding:
• The HIV/AIDS scourge
• Teenage pregnancy/STIs
• Drug and substance abuse
• Chronic illnesses
We observe the National Awareness days calendar and engage our stakeholders, beneficiaries and the community with educational events and disseminating information.
To book an appointment for a therapy session kindly call 011 424 0185, send us a message on our live chat platform or email us on info@kamohelo.org
Our awareness programs increase the community’s knowledge and share information and resources to prevent violence, promote safety, and reduce perpetration. They can be community-wide (anyone can access them) or audience-specific (targeted towards a specific segment of our community, students, or employees). Our awareness programs may focus on primary prevention, but they may also increase the community’s understanding of these types of crimes and how they affect them.
